Natural Home Remedies for Dry Cough

1 Turmeric 

Turmeric contain curcumin which has anti viral, antibacterial and anti inflammatory property and also has anti oxidant. Turmeric has a therapeutic effects on the cough.

Mix 1 tsp of turmeric powder and black pepper in a cup of boiling water. Evaporate the water till comes to half, now add honey in it. Drink it 2-3 times in a day.

or

Mix 1 tsp of turmeric powder and carom seeds in a cup of boiling water. Boil it till it comes to half and now add honey in it. Drink it 2-3 times in a day.

or

Take a tsp of honey and add tsp of turmeric powder in it and take it along with water or without water.

2 Ginger

Ginger is most popular cure for dry cough. It has an natural analgesic. Ginger has an anti inflammatory property and helps soothe irritation caused by sore throat. Ginger works as an expectorant and helping in loosen and expel mucous from lungs.

Crush ginger add in a cup of boiling water,drink it 2-3 times in a day.

or

Chew fresh ginger throughout the day to get relief from dry cough.One can also sprinkle salt on the ginger.

 3 Lemon

Lemon is rich in vitamin C which fight against infection,it has an anti inflammatory property also.

Mix 2 tsp of lemon juice with a tsp of honey and drink it daily several times in day.

or

Mix a tsp of honey with lemon juice,black pepper .Drink it daily several times in a day.

4 Hot milk and honey

Combination of hot milk and honey serves relief from dry cough. Honey has an anti inflammatory  and analgesic property where as milk helps in bringing mucus up from chest and respiratory tract.

Mix a tsp of honey with a glass of hot milk ,drink it before going to bed. This will help you in giving relief from dry cough.

or

Mix a tsp of ginger juice, honey in a glass of hot milk, before going to bed. This is also effective on the dry cough.

5 Garlic

Garlic contain allicin in it which has an anti microbial, anti viral and anti bacterial  property. It has a number of health benefits, it boost up immunity system also.

Pour 2-3 cloves of garlic in a cup of boiling water. Add a tsp of oregano and honey in it. Once it cool down drink it daily twice times.

or

Garlic can be used in the cooking and Mix 2-3 cloves of garlic with clove oil and honey. Eat it till gets relief from dry cough.

6 Gargle with salt

It is one of the most common remedies used since an ancient times. Salt water helps in ease the discomfort caused by the dry cough and also treat sore throat.

Gargling several times in a day will give relief from the swelling and sore throat.

7 Oregano

Oregano works as an expectorant and helps in get rid of mucus.

Add oregano in a cup of boiling water and cover it for few minutes. Strain it and drink it several times in a day.

Dry cough can be cured with natural remedies at home only.
